3 Easy way to Protect Your File or Folder

3 Easy way to Protect Your File or Folder

A file is the common storage unit in a computer, and all programs and data are "written" into a file and "read" from a file. For our more important files, we may want to implement measures that ensure their safety. The good thing is that once you know how to protect files it is a relatively simple process.

File or Folder

A file is the common storage unit in a computer, and all programs and data are "written" into a file and "read" from a file. A folder holds one or more files, and a folder can be empty until it is filled. A folder can also contain other folders, and there can be many levels of folders within folders. Folders within a folder are technically known as "subfolders," but this distinction is often disregarded.

1.Hide File on Your Computer

Sometimes, you need to keep files on your computer that you just don't want other people to see. Here's how to do it.

1.Select the files or folders you want to hide

2.Right-click and choose Properties

3.Click the General tab

4.Click the checkbox next to Hidden in the Attributes section

5.Click Apply

Now the files you chose are hidden away and people won't see them when they're looking through your folders. When you need to find those files again, just turn Hidden Items on.

2.Make to Undeletable file or Folder

Lost files in your PC again and sometimes you even don't know how did you get those files. Fortunately, effective methods are available here to help you fix the files lost issues and you can even make important files undeletable but accessible now. Then you won't lose any precious documents or files in your PC. Let's see how to make files undeletable in Windows now.

1.Select the files or folders you want to Undeletable

2.Right-click and choose Properties

3.Click the Security tab

4.Click Edit to change permission > Select Add and enter Everyone.

5.Press OK and select the group to change Full control permission to Deny.

5.Click Apply

Now the files you chose are Undeletable. When you need to delete those files again, just turn off deny.

3.Given Password-Protect Important Files

If you share your computer with others, there is always a chance of human error — the accidental deletion of an important document, the mistaken modification of a critical file, the accidental sharing of a private folder, etc. One way to deal with this is to add a password to each sensitive file you have, one-by-one. Sharing a computer becomes a worry-free situation after that. Yes, the requirement to enter a password every time you access that file may slow you down a bit, but the peace of mind is undoubtedly worth it. Just remember to always use strong passwords.
